Williams Selected for NCAA Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement
Head Football Coach Aric Williams has been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement. The 12th annual Institute will take place June 6-8, in conjunction with the NACDA (National Association of College Directors of Athletics) and the NADIIIAA (National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators) annual convention in Orlando, Florida.
The Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement is a partnership between the NCAA and the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA), each year bringing 30 mid-level administrators of color working within Division III together to participate in the three days of professional development.
The overall goal of the program is to prepare participants to excel within their current role and ultimately advance their position within Division III athletics through professional development and networking opportunities for under-represented populations in Division III athletics.
"As a coach, I am constantly reminded how college athletics has done a lot for me in my life, and I have a passion to pay it forward and pass my experience on to others", said Williams. "I am excited about the opportunity to learn more about NCAA Division III and athletic administration to help me continue to build on the knowledge and skills I can use to develop our programs and our student-athletes".
Willamette Athletic Director Rob Passage shared, "I am so glad Aric was selected for this program and the opportunity to learn more about the administrative world in Division III. In a space where coaches are responsible for much more than just what happens on the field, I think it is always helpful for them to understand more about what happens across the department".
