Bearcats fight valiantly against George Fox

SALEM, Ore. — Willamette fell to George Fox 31-9 at McCulloch Stadium, as George Fox's balanced attack secured the win. The Bearcats' lone touchdown came from a 29-yard pass in the fourth quarter.

George Fox began their opening drive with a penalty but quickly gained momentum as Taylor Saben rushed for 17 yards, advancing to their 33-yard line. Ben Rembisz converted a pivotal 59-yard field goal, establishing a 3-0 lead for George Fox. The Bearcats' offense struggled to advance significantly, and the quarter concluded with George Fox maintaining the lead

Nick Beswick-Seidl opened the second quarter with a successful 29-yard field goal, tying the game at 3-3. Willamette's Jerrick Little gained 17 rushing yards on consecutive plays, advancing the ball to their 48-yard line before the drive stalled. George Fox capitalized on two personal foul penalties by Willamette, setting up Taylor Saben's 1-yard touchdown run. The period concluded with the Bearcats trailing 10-3.

In the third quarter, JJ Leman connected with Karsen Denault for a 29-yard touchdown pass and Taylor Saben capped a lengthy drive with a 1-yard touchdown run, following several effective passing plays by Leman. George Fox carried a 24-3 lead into the final quarter.

George Fox opened the quarter with a 15-play, 86-yard drive, capped by JJ Leman's 3-yard touchdown pass to Karsen Denault, extending their lead. The Bearcats responded with a quick scoring drive as Alex Rivera IV connected with Jordan Robinson for a 29-yard touchdown, but the extra point was missed. A sack by Javi Rodriguez for a 4-yard loss forced a George Fox punt, giving Willamette another opportunity. George Fox sealed the game with a defensive stand, and the final score was 31-9 in their favor.

Jordan Robinson recorded a 29-yard touchdown reception, contributing to the scoring efforts. Rivera completed 6 of 20 passes for 80 yards, including a touchdown. Jonjon Delgado and Konor Robinson each collected eight tackles, with Konor Robinson also forcing a fumble. Rodriguez tallied six tackles, one sack, and blocked a kick on the defensive side.

The Bearcats stand at 1-7 overall and are 0-5 in conference play. George Fox holds a 3-5 overall record and is 3-2 in conference play.
