Bearcats are Listed #7 on Golfstats Statistical Rankings for NCAA Division III

SALEM, Ore. -- The Willamette University men's golf team is listed at #7 on the Golfstat Team Rankings for NCAA Division III through tournaments on Oct. 10. Golfstat is the official golf stats service for the NCAA.
In addition to being #7 overall in the Team Rankings, Willamette is second in adjusted scoring average. The Bearcats have an adjusted average of 72.37, which is lower than all of the teams in the rankings except for Guilford College (N.C.), which has an adjusted average of 72.25. The Team Rankings are based on several statistical categories, including comparative win-loss record, adjusted scoring average, strength of schedule, and tournament victories.
Christopher Newport University (Va.) topped the Team Rankings in the #1 position with a relative percentage of 95.80% against other teams and a 72.62 adjusted average. Methodist University (N.C.) was ranked #2, also with a 95.80% rating and a 72.71 adjusted average. Guilford was #3 with a 93.0% relative parentage to go along with its top-ranked adjusted average. Emory University (Ga.) was #4 in the rankings with a 72.96 adjusted scoring average and a 94.90% relative percentage.
Wittenberg University (Ohio) followed at #5 with a 93.10% rating and a 72.77 adjusted scoring average. The University of Redlands (Calif.) was #6 at 93.80% for its relative percentage and a 72.79 adjusted average. At #7, Willamette had a 93.60% relative percentage. Piedmont University (Ga.) was listed at #8 with a 73.00 adjusted average and a 93.30% relative percentage. Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) held the #9 spot with a 93.50% rating and a 73.46 adjusted scoring average. Washington & Lee University (Va.) was #10 on the strength of a 73.31 adjusted scoring average and a 92.00% relative percentage.
The Northwest Conference was represented by two teams in the rankings. In addition to Willamette at #7, Whitman College was #25. The Blues had a 73.20 adjusted stroke average to go with an 87.30% relative percentage.
Willamette is slated to compete at the Whitman Confluence Classic on Oct. 22-23. The tournament will be held at Wine Valley Golf Club/Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Walla Walla, Washington.
