SALEM, ORE. -- With a 10-7-2 record in the bag for their first winning season since 2000, several players from the Willamette University men's soccer team received some well-deserved individual recognition as seven Bearcats were awarded with All-Northwest Conference honors.
SALEM, ORE. -- In a battle of nearby Northwest Conference rivals on Saturday, Nov 3, Willamette University scored two goals in the first half before Linfield tied the game with goals at 50:52 and 52:42. Willamette countered with two quick goals of its own at 67:27 and 68:55 to take charge of the game in a 4-3 victory over the Wildcats at Sparks Field.

NEWBERG, ORE. -- Willamette University struggled for over 90 minutes to break down George Fox University's stubborn defense, but a scrappy overtime goal from Kevin Martin (Jr., D, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA/Francis Parker School) snatched the Bearcats all three points on the road Saturday afternoon. Willamette defeated George Fox, 1-0.
McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Trevor Jensen (Jr., MF, Chula Vista, CA/Bonita Vista HS) of Willamette University recorded three goals for a hat trick to lead the Bearcats over nearby rival Linfield College, 3-2, in Northwest Conference action on Saturday, Oct. 6.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University outshot George Fox University, 17-7, in total shots, including 9-2 in shots on goal, but the Bruins escaped Sparks Field with a 1-0 win on Sunday, Sept. 30 in men's soccer action after scoring on a counter-attack with 7:36 left in the game.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior defender Etienne Galbreath (Portland, OR/Grant HS) scored the winning goal with 4:05 remaining, as the Bearcats defeated Pacific University, 3-2, in a Northwest Conference men's soccer game on Saturday, Sept. 29. Galbreath scored on a 3-yard header at the near post on a corner kick. The win at Sparks Field allowed Willamette to improve its record to 4-5-1 overall, 1-3-1 in the NWC. Pacific fell to 3-7-0 on the season, 1-4-0 in the NWC.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University took an early lead on a goal by Tyler Yates (Fr., Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe HS) at 11:13 and held the lead for most of the game, but Derek Johnson scored two goals for Pacific Lutheran University in the final 11 minutes, as the Lutes rallied past the Bearcats, 2-1, on Sunday, Sept. 23 at Sparks Field.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University and Puget Sound played a scoreless first half, but the visiting Loggers earned two goals in the first nine minutes of the second half to defeat the Bearcats, 2-0, in a Northwest Conference men's soccer game on Saturday, Sept. 22.
SPOKANE, WASH. -- Willamette University provided a solid defensive battle with #16-ranked Whitworth University in men's soccer on Sunday, Sept. 16, but the Pirates escaped with a 1-0 victory following a goal by Will Wren at 83:26. Whitworth remained undefeated at 5-0-1 on the season, while improving to 2-0-0 in the Northwest Conference. Willamette dropped to 3-3-1 overall, 0-1-1 in the NWC.
