Bearcats drop close one to Linfield
Olmedo won the 50 free and was second in the 100 free
SALEM, Ore. — Kevin Olmedo led Willamette University's effort with a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 22.82 seconds. Despite a strong showing with multiple top-three finishes, the Bearcats narrowly missed out on a team victory.
Olmedo demonstrated strong performances with a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.84 seconds. Nicholas Moore excelled, securing second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.50 and third in both the 500-yard freestyle at 5:14.62 and the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:22.27. Trai Xiong captured first place in the 400-yard individual medley, completing the race in 4:21.19, and contributed to the second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Ka'olapa Masuko earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:00.56, and added valuable points with a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
