Bearcats Demonstrate Capabilities at Rich Allen Classic
Bernadicou chases down competition in the 5000m
NEWBERG, Ore. – The Bearcats entered the Rich Allen Classic, hosted by George Fox University, in competition against eight teams and several unattached athletes. Among the Bearcats there were several notable top-five perfomances against tough competitors.
In the 400m, Major LeProwse and Owen Phillips took third and fourth place, LeProwse with a personal best (PB) of 50.77 seconds. In the 800m, Tim McMahon earned fourth place with a season best, and in the following 400m Hurdles Brison Speakthunder delivered a stellar performance that secured him second place. In the same event, Kayden Gonzales took fifth place. In an intense back-and-forth race, Thomas Bernadicou prevailed against his challenger from George Fox to take first place in the 5000m. Treyton Marty and Jay Chew followed in third and fourth.
Austin Snodgrass threw 45.71m in Discus to secure second place in the event. In Hammer Throw, Roan Bashioum earned fourth place, while Snodgrass took the same position in Shot Put.
Ending with the jump field events, Phillips displayed his talent in Long Jump, earning first place with a jump of 6.80 meters. Niko White accompanied him in the top three by securing third place. In High Jump, Carson Naehr earned fourth place.
Willamette Track & Field competes next at the Corban Dual meet from March 17-19 in Salem, Oregon.
