McArthur 1sr with Long Jump season best
NEWBERG, Ore. — At the George Fox Final Qualifier, several field athletes put on stellar performances, with all Bearcats placing in the top ten and many on the podium.
In Hammer Throw, the crowd saw Roan Bashioum earn fifth place with a throw of 48.57 meters. Steeley Mucken achieved third in Javelin, while Owen Phillips got sixth in Long Jump. Kaleb McArthur and Niko White also competed in Long Jump, each jumping the same distance: 6.99 meters. For McArthur, this season-best distance put him in first place, while White's initial fouls landed him second. Austin Snodgrass competed in two events: Shot Put and Discus; in the former, he got second, while in the latter he secured first place with a 45.70-meter throw. Bashioum was also in Discus, throwing just shy of Snodgrass' distance and taking third place. Elijah Jones participated in Pole Vault, but was unable to clear 4.48 meters.
The next track & field competition are the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
