Bearcats and Boxers are Postponed on Saturday in Softball
SALEM, ORE. -- The softball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, March 1 between Willamette University and Pacific University has been postponed. Willamette and the Boxers were set to play on a neutral field at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore., but rain prevented the action from getting underway.
SALEM, ORE. -- The softball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, March 1 between Willamette University and Pacific University has been postponed. Willamette and the Boxers were set to play on a neutral field at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore., but rain prevented the action from getting underway.
The Bearcats are still scheduled to take on Pacific on Sunday, March 2 at the Linfield Softball Field. First pitch in the doubleheader, which will start Northwest Conference play for both teams, is slated for 12 p.m. (PST). Pacific, which is completing construction of a new field in Forest Grove, Ore., will be the home team on Sunday.
No date has been set for two additional games to replace Saturday's doubleheader. Even so, both teams hope to play the games later this season.
