SALEM, ORE. -- Four years of hard work in the Bearcat women's basketball program came to fruition for team captain Sophie Wilson (Sr., G, Port Townsend, WA/Port Townsend HS), as she was selected for Honorable Mention recognition on the 2012-13 All-Northwest Conference team.Â
McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Linfield College built a 34-20 halftime lead and went on to defeat a short-handed Willamette University team, 66-45, on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Ted Wilson Gymnasium, in the final regular season game for both teams.
SALEM, ORE. -- Whitworth University sank 20 of 23 free throws and scored 15 points off turnovers, as the Pirates defeated Willamette University, 66-53, on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Cone Field House. Emily Travis made 9 of 11 free throws and scored a game-high 23 points for the Pirates, while Kendra Lahue added 18 points and hit 6 of 7 three-point shots.
SALEM, ORE. -- Whitman College held Willamette University to 23.4% shooting from the field, as the Missionaries defeated the Bearcats, 75-34, on Friday, Feb. 15 at Cone Field House. Willamette hit just 11 of 47 shots during the game. Whitman shot 48.5% from the field (32 of 66), while making 16 of 33 field goals in each half.
PORTLAND, ORE. -- Lewis & Clark College, ranked #10 in the USA Today Division III Top 25, limited Willamette University to 29.3% shooting, and achieved a 57-29 rebounding margin, as the Pioneers defeated the Bearcats, 78-47, in Northwest Conference action on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The Boxers improved to 12-5 on the season, 5-4 in the NWC, while Willamette dropped to 1-17 overall, 1-8 in the NWC.

Whitman shot 53.3% (32 of 60) for the game, including 65.5% in the first half (19 of 29).
