CLAREMONT, CALIF. -- Willamette University tennis players Natalia Agarycheva (Sr., Vancouver, WA/Prairie HS/U. of Northern Colorado) and Shannon Palmer (Jr., Salem, OR/Sprague HS) were defeated by the #1-seeded doubles team of Kendra Higgins and Chrissy Hu from the University of Chicago (Ill.) at the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships on Friday, May 27.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University tennis players Natalia Agarycheva (Sr., Vancouver, WA/Prairie HS/U. of Northern Colorado) and Shannon Palmer (Jr., Salem, OR/Sprague HS) have received exciting yet challenging draws for the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships, which begin on Friday, May 27 in Claremont, Calif. Agarycheva will be competing in singles and will combine with Palmer in doubles.

SALEM, ORE. -- Linfield College won all three doubles matches, helping the Wildcats defeat Willamette University, 7-2, in Northwest Conference women's tennis action on Friday, April 8. The Wildcats improved to 13-4, including 11-1 in the NWC. Willamette moved to 9-6 overall, 6-5 in the conference.
BELLEVUE, WASH. -- Willamette University played an exhibition match in women's tennis against a quality junior college opponent in Bellevue Community College on Sunday, April 3 at the Robinswood Tennis Center. Bellevue CC won the match by a final score of 8-1.
TACOMA, WASH. -- The Bearcats won #1 and #2 singles and #1 and #2 doubles, but it wasn't enough for a shorthanded Willamette University women's tennis team to hold off the University of Puget Sound, as the Loggers claimed a 5-4 victory at the UPS Tennis Pavilion on Saturday, April 2.
LOS ANGELES, CALIF. -- Willamette University won two of three doubles matches, and rolled through the six singles matches without a loss, to claim an 8-1 victory over Occidental College in women's tennis on Saturday, March 26. The match was held at the McKinnon Family Tennis Center on the Occidental Campus.
THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF. -- Willamette University outlasted California Lutheran University, 5-4, in a non-conference women's tennis match on Friday, March 25 at the Poulson Tennis Courts. The match was not decided until the final singles match, #3 singles, reached its conclusion in a third set.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University built an early lead by winning all three doubles matches on its way a 7-2 victory over Hardin-Simmons University (Texas) in a women's tennis match on Tuesday, March 15 at the Courthouse Tennis Club. The win increased Willamette's record to 7-4 on the season, while Hardin-Simmons dropped to 7-4.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University took a 2-1 lead in doubles and then held off Lewis & Clark College in singles, as the Bearcats defeated the Pioneers 6-3 at the Courthouse Tennis Club on Sunday, March 13. WU had momentum following the doubles matches, but owned just a 4-3 advantage with two singles matches still in progress.
FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's tennis team defeated Pacific University, 7-2, on Friday, March 11 in a Northwest Conference match. Willamette improved to 5-4 on the season, including 5-3 in the NWC. Pacific dropped to 2-3 overall, 2-3 in the conference.
McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Linfield College kept its women's tennis record undefeated in 2011 with a 7-2 victory over visiting Willamette University on Saturday, March 5 at the Linfield Tennis Center. The Wildcats upped their NWC record to 6-0 and also improved to 6-1 overall. Willamette, now 4-3 in the NWC, moved to 4-4 on the season.
