SALEM, Ore. — Pacific Lutheran University defeated Willamette University 3-1 on Saturday at Cone Field House, with set scores of 24-26, 25-15, 25-23, 25-17. Willamette edged out a win in the first set but was unable to maintain momentum. Both teams recorded eight service aces, with the Lutes executing a more efficient attack, hitting .184 compared to the Bearcats' .080.
Dream Takemoto led the defensive efforts with 28 digs over four sets. Caroline Jameson posted 16 kills and contributed 16.5 points to the team's performance. Leina Chu was pivotal in setting with 40 assists, facilitating the team's offensive plays. Katey Cramer recorded 16 digs and matched Jameson with 16.5 total points, showcasing her contributions both defensively and offensively.
The Bearcats held a 3-8 overall record with a 1-3 mark in conference play. The Lutes stood at 4-6 overall and 2-1 in conference competition.
