McMINNVILLE, Ore. — Willamette University defeated Linfield University in a five-set thriller, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-6, 15-7, on Tuesday at Ted Wilson Gymnasium. After dropping the first two sets, the Bearcats rallied with a dominant performance in the fourth set, holding Linfield to just six points. The Bearcats' serving was a key factor, with 11 aces contributing to the comeback victory.
Caroline Jameson led the Bearcats with 15 kills and totaled 17.5 points, showcasing her offensive contribution. Leina Chu orchestrated the attack by distributing 35 assists, maintaining consistent playmaking. Dream Takemoto anchored the defense, collecting 27 digs over the matches. Chelsea Velez contributed effectively from the service line, delivering four aces to bolster the team's scoring opportunities.
