Willamette Women's Cross Country Opens Season at Lewis & Clark Opener
ESTACADA, Ore. — The Willamette University women's cross country team officially began its 2025 season on Friday, competing at the Lewis & Clark XC Opener held at Milo McIver State Park. The Bearcats placed 10th in the team standings with a total of 263 points.
Willamette was led by first-year runner Mia Koernig, who was the top finisher for the Bearcats with a time of , earning her 52nd place overall. Close behind were senior Anna Bikle in 60th place with a time of , and first-year Ada Boyd, who finished 61st with a time of . The Bearcats' top three finishers were separated by less than 26 seconds.
Rounding out the scoring for Willamette were first-year Elise Henderson, finishing 71st with a time of , and first-year Rachel Hamasaki, who placed 74th with a time of . The performance highlighted a strong start for the team's newcomers, with four first-year runners in the top five.
