SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior first baseman Kyle Stalker (Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) has been named Third Team All-America by D3Baseball.com for his efforts during the 2009 season. Stalker led the Bearcats with a .455 batting average, smacked a team-high 15 home runs and topped the WU lineup with 52 RBIs.
SALEM, ORE. -- The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has selected Willamette University senior first baseman Kyle Stalker (Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) for Second Team All-West Region honors in NCAA Division III.

SA.LEM, ORE. -- Willamette University baseball player Jack McGee (Sr., Utility, Hillsborough, CA/St. Ignatius HS) has been named Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts as the Bearcats swept a series against Pacific University on April 25-26. McGee, a versatile athlete who saw action as a right fielder, designated hitter and pitcher during the week, hit .529 on offense to help Willamette go 4-0 against the Boxers.
SALEM, ORE. -- Doug Bloom (So., SS, Salem, OR/South Salem HS) scored from second base on a single by Jack McGee (Sr., RHP/UTIL, Hillsborough, CA/St. Ignatius HS) with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, as Willamette University defeated Pacific University, 12-11, in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday, April 26. The Bearcats trailed 11-10 after Pacific's Joey Pulito hit a grand slam in the top of the seventh, but WU answered with two runs to win the game.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University rallied from a 9-3 deficit after 2 1/2 innings and went on to defeat Pacific University 11-10 in 10 innings, in the first game of a Northwest Conference doubleheader at John Lewis Field on Saturday, April 25. Willamette won the second game 8-1 to sweep the doubleheader.
McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Devin Grindy (So., RHP, Washougal, WA/Camas HS) threw a complete-game for Willamette University and limited Linfield College to seven hits, as the Bearcats defeated the Wildcats, 4-3, in the second game of a Northwest Conference doubleheader on Sunday, April 19 at Roy Helser Field. Linfield scored seven runs in the second inning of the first game on its way to a 13-1 win.
McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Doug Bloom (So., SS, Salem, OR/Sprague HS) drove in David Tufo (Sr., 3B, San Bruno, CA/Burlingame HS) from second base with a two-out RBI double in the top of the ninth inning to send Willamette University past Linfield College, 6-5, in the second game of a doubleheader at Roy Helser Field on Saturday, April 18. In the opener, Linfield tallied five runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Bearcats, 6-1.

He batted .467 (7 of 15) with four homers, eight runs and 12 RBIs in five games from April 7-11. His efforts helped the Bearcats go 3-2 during the week.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University and George Fox University hope to complete their Northwest Conference baseball series with a doubleheader of 7-inning games on Tuesday, April 14 at John Lewis Field. The games were originally scheduled for March 15, but they were rained out.

SALEM, ORE. -- Michael Dearborn (So., CF, Solana Beach, CA/Torrey Pines HS) of Willamette University smacked a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give WU a 3-0 lead, and the Bearcats went on to defeat the University of Puget Sound, 6-5, in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday, April 10 at John Lewis Field. Puget Sound scored five runs in the first inning of the second game and defeated the Bearcats, 20-5, to split the twinbill.
SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University baseball doubleheader against the University of Puget Sound on Saturday, April 11 will be webcast by Full Access Sports. Willamette opens the weekend with a 13-11 overall record. The Bearcats are 10-7 in the Northwest Conference.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior first baseman Kyle Stalker (Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) had an outstanding series on the road against Whitman College, April 4-5, and has been chosen Northwest Conference Baseball Player Student-Athlete of the Week. Stalker was 7 of 14 and drove in 12 runs in the four games. Along the way, he set a Willamette record with 143 career RBIs.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University first baseman Kyle Stalker (Sr., Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) hit two home runs, and five pitchers combined to hold Corban College to two runs and eight hits, as the Bearcats defeated the Warriors, 5-2, at John Lewis Field on Tuesday, April 7. Stalker blasted a solo homer to center field in the fifth inning and smacked another ball over the center field fence for a solo home run in the eighth inning.
