SALEM, ORE. -- Several Willamette University men's soccer players have been competing for successful summer league teams. Mike McGrew (MF/F, Portland, OR/Grant HS), a sophomore in 2010-11, plays for the Westside Metros U19 Internationals, while Loftin Langsdorf (So., D/MF, Vancouver, WA/Columbia River High School and Timothy Ikehara-Martin (So., MF, Vancouver, WA/Heritage HS) play for the Columbia Premier Timbers.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University senior midfielder Casey Dineen (Portland, OR/Jesuit HS) has been selected Second Team All-Northwest Conference in voting by the NWC head coaches. WU players Luke Lagattuta (Sr., MF, Albuquerque, NM/Highland HS) and Erik Kaufman (So., F, Portland, OR/Grant HS) received Honorable Mention.
SALEM, ORE. -- Sophomore forward Erik Kaufman (Portland, OR/Grant HS) scored his second goal of the game with five seconds left in the first overtime to send Willamette University to a 2-1 victory over Linfield College on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Sparks Field.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University scored three first-half goals, including two in a 36-second span, then held off Whitman College in the final 15 minutes for a 3-2 win on Sunday, Nov. 1 at Sparks Field. The Bearcats improved to 5-13-0 on the season, including 4-9-0 in the Northwest Conference. The Missionaries fell to 4-11-3 overall, 3-8-2 in the NWC.
SALEM, ORE. -- Whitworth University scored three goals in the first 9:25 on its way to a 5-2 victory over Willamette University on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Sparks Field. WU recovered from the early deficit to battle the Pirates for much of the contest, cutting the lead to 3-1 before halftime and pulling within 4-2 in the 77th minute.
TACOMA, WASH. -- Pacific Lutheran University won its third game in a row, as the Lutes defeated visiting Willamette University, 2-0, in a Northwest Conference men's soccer game on Sunday, Oct. 25. The Lutes improved to 11-5 on the season and to 8-3 in the NWC. Willamette fell to 4-12 overall, 4-8 in the NWC.
TACOMA, WASH. -- The Willamette University men's soccer team scored two goals in the second half but could not overcome a three-goal deficit from the first half. The Bearcats were defeated by host University of Puget Sound, 3-2, on Saturday, Oct. 24.
SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University trailed George Fox University 1-0 in the first half, but the Bearcats tied the game before halftime and dominated the second half of play, in a 4-2 win over the Bruins on Sunday, Oct. 17 at Sparks Field. WU built a 4-1 lead before the Bruins tallied the game's last goal in the final minute.

Willamette held Pacific scoreless through the first half on Saturday, Oct. 17, but was unable to stay with the Boxers in the second half. Willamette drops to 3-10-0 overall and 2-6-0 in the Northwest Conference. Pacific climbs to 10-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the NWC.
McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Linfield College scored a controversial goal in the opening seconds and played 50:25 with a man-advantage, as the Wildcats defeated Willamette University, 5-1, in a Northwest Conference game on Sunday, Oct. 11. Linfield improved to 4-7-1 overall, 3-4 in the NWC. Willamette fell to 3-9 overall, 2-5 in the conference.
SPOKANE, WASH. -- Whitworth University broke open a scoreless game with two goals early in the second half, and the Pirates went on to defeat Willamette University, 3-0, in a Northwest Conference game on Sunday, Oct. 4. Justin Meyer scored two goals for the Pirates, while Elly Bulega earned two assists.

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University sophomore forward Erik Kaufman (Portland, OR/Grant HS) has been named Northwest Conference Men's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts in games played on Sept. 26 and 27. Kaufman scored a total of three goals and one assist as Willamette went 1-1 during the week.
FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- Pacific University netted four goals in the first half, including two by Sean Mills, and the Boxers held off a late Willamette University rally, to defeat the Bearcats, 4-2, in a Northwest Conference game on Sunday, Sept. 27. Mills registered the game's first two goals, as he found the net at 8:48 and 21:36.
NEWBERG, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's soccer team scored two goals in the second half on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 26, at George Fox University, and came away with a 3-2 victory. Willamette moved to 2-6 overall, 1-2 in the Northwest Conference. George Fox fell to 3-5 overall and to 0-3 in the NWC.
SALEM, ORE. -- The University of Puget Sound scored one goal in each half, as the Loggers defeated Willamette University, 2-0, in a Northwest Conference men's soccer match at Sparks Field on Sunday, Sept. 20. The Loggers finished with an 11-8 edge in total shots, while each team put three shots on goal.
