SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's golf team overcame high winds on both days to tie for second place at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic, played April 5-6 at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick, Wash. It was a tremendous moment in a solid season for the Bearcats.
WOODBURN, ORE. -- Mckenzie Weinhold (Sr., Jr. elig., Placerville, CA/El Dorado HS/Univ. of Nevada-Reno) from Willamette University tied for ninth place, and teammate Taneesh Sra (So., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) tied for 11th, at the conclusion of the NWC Tournament on Sunday, April 27 at the Oregon Golf Association Golf Course.
WOODBURN, ORE. -- Taneesh Sra (So., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) from Willamette University shot an 82 to tie for seventh place during the first round of the Northwest Conference Tournament at the Oregon Golf Association Golf Course on Saturday, April 26. The Bearcats finished the round in fifth place.
SALEM, ORE. -- Strong finishes at the NWC Fall Classic and the NWC Spring Classic have the Willamette University women's golf team in a position to battle for one of the top spots in the Northwest Conference this season. The first two tournaments were each worth one-fourth of the NWC team title. The final half will be determined at the NWC Tournament, set for Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore.
WOODBURN, ORE. -- Taneesh Sra (So., Fremont, CA/Mission San Jose HS) from Willamette University achieved first place with a score of 82, leading the Bearcats to the team championship at the Willamette Cup, held on Saturday, April 19 at the Oregon Golf Association Golf Course.
BEND, ORE. -- Mckenzie Weinhold (Jr., Placerville, CA/El Dorado HS/Univ. of Nevada-Reno) of Willamette University put together two great rounds, shooting a 77 and a 79, to earn fourth place at the Willamette Spring Thaw in women's golf, hosted by the Bearcats at the Broken Top Club in Bend, Ore., on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13.

George Fox University was in first place with a score of 303. Willamette owned second place at 331, while Lewis & Clark College was third at 333.

The tournament, hosted by George Fox University, was originally scheduled for two days, but Sunday's second round was canceled due to the weather.

The Bearcats, who shot 659, were led by freshman Jessi Weaver (Lincoln City, OR/Taft HS), who placed sixth with a score of 159.

PORTLAND, ORE. -- Elise Levy (So., Reno, NV/Bishop Manogue HS) of Willamette University shot a 36-hole score of 155 for second place at the end of the first day of the Warner Pacific Invitational on Monday, Oct. 7 at the Glendoveer Golf Course. Bolstered by Levy's solid play, the Bearcats were second in the team standings at 665.
